Julie is principally interested in using the figure to produce evocative works with a hidden narrative — one the viewer is left to interpret.
She studied Art and Design at the University of Brighton and, wishing to further her development of figurative art, completed a postgraduate course at the Slade School of Art. During this period she developed her use of acrylic and explored a more expressionist approach to her work.
Julie likes to work in many media, including oil and watercolour, and in particular acrylic. Many of her paintings are held in private collections, and the works shown here are released as limited editions of 25.
